Environmental Sustainability?

The landscape provides me with such an abundance of inspiration, and so I make sure that I source my art materials and all my packaging from environmentally responsible companies who stock products that are FSC-certified, have carbon-neutral shipping and use sustainable protective packaging.

How do I pay for the artwork?

I welcome payment by debit or credit card. I do not retain any debit or credit card details. Payment by Apple Pay and via PayPal and are also available at check-out.

It is also possible to pay by bank transfer. If you wish to pay by this method then please send me an e-mail detailing which piece of artwork you are interested in purchasing and confirm in the e-mail that you wish to acquire it. I will then forward to you my bank details to enable you to send me a bank transfer and I will at the same time mark the artwork as ‘Sold’ on my website so that it is not available to other purchasers. Please make the transfer payment from your bank immediately.

I regret that I am no longer able to accept payments by cheque.

What is the cost of shipping?

Domestic shipping (Scotland, England and Wales)

£10

This is automatically added at check-out.

It is a contribution towards the secure packaging and courier costs.

I normally use the courier company DPDgroup for shipments within Great Britain as I find them very reliable and they have a good reputation.

Domestic shipping to Northern Ireland

As the protocols for Northern Ireland post Brexit are currently quite fluid, please contact me before purchase if you wish a particular artwork delivering to Northern Ireland.

At the present time I cannot currently ship to individual buyers in Northern Ireland as post Brexit I have not yet registered for an Irish EORI** registration number to allow me to ship my artwork to Northern Ireland. I will be registering in due course.

Please also note that if you are a business receiving shipments from me valued in excess of £135 special documentation arrangements apply and additional paperwork is required to be submitted – please see:

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/sending-parcels-between-great-britain-and-northern-ireland

** Economic Operators Registration and Identification number.

International shipping - EU countries

£15

This is automatically added at check-out.

It is a contribution towards the secure packaging and courier costs.

International shipping - Rest of the World

£20

This is automatically added at check-out.

It is a contribution towards the secure packaging and courier costs.

I normally use either the courier companies of DPDgroup, DHL or FedEx as I find these companies the most reliable.

The delivery terms for international shipping are DAP/DDU. (Delivered at Place/Delivered Duty Unpaid). This means that I pay the shipping and related insurance costs until the shipment arrives in the receiving country.

Customs charges - sending artwork outside of the UK

The buyer pays all customs charges, import taxes and handling fees in the receiving country. The buyer can then claim the parcel. These charges will depend on the receiving country and the value of the item. You should check with your local customs authorities to ascertain the total amount of these charges. An indication of these charges can be made by consulting the website https://www.simplyduty.com/import-calculator/ (The HS code for my artwork is 970110)

I comply fully with all export and shipping regulations and documentation and am therefore unable to ship any of my artwork as a ‘Gift’ or reduce the gross monetary value of the artwork in the shipping documentation in order to reduce customs charges and import taxes in the receiving country.

Please note that for both domestic and international shipping I am unable to ship to a PO Box number.

*Cards - FREE SHIPPING if purchasing just cards - shipping costs will apply if buying cards AND artwork together*

How will my artwork be shipped?

I use environmentally sustainable packaging wherever possible, and all artwork is packaged with the utmost of care as follows:

Firstly your artwork will be wrapped in acid and Lignin free tissue.

Cardboard corner protectors are then added (if this is suitable for the artwork).

The artwork is then wrapped in paper bubble-wrap before being placed in its custom-made shipping box to give it the highest degree of protection while in transit.

The most appropriate courier for the destination country will be used, and you are given the tracking/shipping number so you are able to track your artwork.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could let me know (within 24 hours of receiving it) that your artwork has arrived safely.

All of my artwork has arrived in perfect condition so far.  However, if unfortunately yours has not, could you please contact me immediately and if possible send me a photograph of the damaged package (for courier insurance purpose).

Returns - what if I'm not satisfied with my chosen artwork upon arrival?

I'm confident that you will love your chosen piece of artwork. However, if you are not 100% happy with your purchased artwork when you receive it, I offer a return guarantee (UK only).  Or, if you prefer, you can choose an alternative artwork of the same value.

Please contact me by e-mail within 14 days of the date of receipt of the artwork and request a refund. I then ask you to carefully package the work and arrange and pay to return the artwork to me using the same courier method used for despatch.

In this instance a photograph of the artwork will be requested before you re-package for its return (in case it is damaged in transit).

On receipt, I will refund you within 14 working days less the courier cost that I originally incurred in sending the artwork to you.

I regret that I am unable to offer a return guarantee on any artwork that has been shipped internationally.

As mentioned above, I take extreme care to display my artwork as accurately as I can. The images that you see on my website may show a slight difference to the actual original artwork due to variations between browsers, devices, and individual screen settings, and are for guidance only.  Any variation between the image seen and the actual artwork is not deemed a fault and as such is not a valid reason to request a refund. Thanks for your understanding on this point!

Is it possible to get a print of a painting?

All of my paintings are original, one-off pieces of work, however if you contact me then I may be able to make a print of your chosen artwork.

Do the paintings come framed or unframed?

Each painting in my online shop has an accompanying description of whether it is framed or unframed.  The photographs also will show whether it is framed or unframed.

I use two different surfaces for my work :

Cradled wood panels - these have a 4cm (1.5") depth and can be framed to hang, or stood on a shelf or mantelpiece.

Wood panels - these have a floating frame and are to be hung.

All artwork has hanging cord/wire attached for immediate hanging.

Can I commission a painting?

At the present time I am not taking commissions.

Do you do gift wrapping?

All artwork is presented wrapped in acid and Lignin free tissue. However if the artwork for a gift it can be wrapped in Premium Mulberry tissue (this is made from the inner bark of the mulberry tree and is shed naturally), and is creamy white and contains dried seaweed. A co-ordinating raffia tie in either green or orange (or both!) will also be added for decoration.

I can send you an example photograph - just fill in the 'contact box' requesting this.
